Default Immaculate 1990 Coupé with 840 miles up for auction...

Morning Gents,

this article is really interesting. Basically, the car was in storage for 28 years. Auction estimates currently between GBP 35-40k for a car, 2nd hand, with a 3 digit mileage on the clock. It looks stunning. But it has seriously backfired for the owner, who was hoping for the prices to skyrocket...

I'd still love the car!

Really cool article. Saved the picture of Princess Diana driving an xj-s. History nerd here and seeing our cars intertwined in history always gets me excited haha. It's a shame he can't hold onto it longer. He may be selling it just a few years before he really could see a profit.

In theory he is making a profit, of course not along the lines as expected...

Interesting that they expect Ford Siesta to go for almost 3x of XJS. I am not familiar with Siesta line, but I would have picked XJS even if Siesta was priced lower than XJS

Sometimes you have to wait a little longer. The 50's and early 60's Mercedes 190 SL could have been had for about $15 - $25k 10 years ago. I remember Sheryl Crow's SL 190 went up for charity auction around 2007 and only fetched $30k or so. Now they can go well in excess of $100k for a nice example. Not bad for an underpowered 4 cylinder that doesn't handle too well.

Sierra, ... They are now super rare. Once seen everywhere, churned out in the millions and now they are all gone, rotted and absed to death...
