Injectors
Pulled the fuel rails out, looks like the crud in the tank hasn't come through as they are clean.. have soaked some carby cleaner through them letting them sit.
To my amazement some of the injectors were just loose, freely spinning in their place. Even have 2 diff types of injector some with a merc stamp , they are the same #.

There's a couple of Youtube detailing this and the hose just pushes down over a ferrule...anyone used these kits? Is there a preferred method to clamp these?
I could possibly piece it all up, don't know how easy it is to get all the bits in AU, the kit seems simpler so I ensure I get the right parts.

All my PreHE had clamps top and bottom. The HE not so.
Those lower clamps are a specific EFI clamp, using a specific tool to apply the clamping force..
The upper Left clamp is NOT an EFI spec clamp, it is a generic hose clamp for anything BUT EFI hose connections.
The upper Right clamp is OK, and old school fuel hose clamp, found a lot on early GM systems.
I use the Tridon EFI spec clamps, and Goss EFI hose throughout any V12 I comes my way. NO exceptions.

Well that just made things much easier if I can use clamps top and bottom since I can source all that easily enough. I can get the mounting seal if needed from Jagdaim too part EAC2415 I think.
is the bottom seal something common/generic I can get at a auto store (Repco?) too, part #?
Thinking now It may be better for me to send out the injector for proper cleaning then put them back myself with new fuel lines & seals.
Nice to have another option.

The top larger mounting rubber, is just that. It is an insulator and holds the Injector in place. It has NO sealing task at all, so, if they are still softish and pliable (not rock hard) use that $$ somewhere else.
The lower are standard Bosch Style Seals. Take a sample, they are square section, and a PITA to get into place without screwing them.
I always fit them to the manifold first, with a spray of Silicon Spray on the manifold hole, and on the seals, then CAREFULLY work them into the hole so they sit "just flush" with the top face.
A short spray of Silicon Spray on the Injector tip, and SLOWLY work them in.
TAKE YOUR TIME, there is NO rush.
Any Injector Cleaning Outfit will have those lower seals, or Doug at JagDaim should have them.
EAC2415 is the lower seal. EAC2414 is for the larger upper insulator.

The injectors came back from cleaning with a perfect score - 12/12 dead
I guess it was inevitable after not running for 5 years, the mounting rubbers were all brittle and had to be snapped off.
So I've learned why the "dont start, dont buy" brigade exist.... anyhooo.....
Unsure where to go from here, the best price I have found is $US145
for one labelled "BOSCH Fuel Injector 0280150035 : A450 / Hose-Clamp / Pigtail for Jaguar , Mercedes - Benz "..... times twelve
Anyone know a "friendlier" supplier ?

That is a 1st for me. I have never had a dud injector, let alone all 12, its sounds "wrong" to me.
Some I have had have been stuck, jammed. and unresponsive. Soaking in a coffee jar (lid on) of Carby Cleaner has always worked.
I had a wooden plank, YEARS ago, with 14 holes that the Injectors poked through. and placed it so the "tips" were immersed in trays of Paint Thinners. I did this in Winter, so evaporation was slightly less, and that worked a treat. I left them all afternoon. Topping up the trays was messy, and I consumed way too many beers, but it worked.
That engine had sat for 8 years.
I then used a 12v supply, and had a small hammer. Applied SHORT stabs of voltage at the same time a WHACKING the Injector, and eventually they all started "clicking", then I flushed Carby Cleaner through them without the whacking, just the SHORT stabs of volts.
DO NOT hold the volts ON for any countable time, as that will burn out the inner coils.
For that money I reckon you could get a complete PreHE engine, maybe still in a car. Try Brian at JagDaim.
PreHE Injectors are unique, HE units will fit, but WILL NOT run that engine.
I will stooge around later and come back if I find anything. Maybe the "Pest from the West" has some?????, BEER TIME>

More suggestions.
Grab an Ohm meter, Digital or Analogue, it matters not.
Meter the 2 terminals of each Injector, and note continuity (does not matter the resistance at the moment), or lack of continuity.
If there is continuity, they are NOT dead, just lazy.
Another GOOD soaking medium, Diesel fuel, in a coffee jar, lid on, come back in a coupla days.
Grab an Ohm meter, Digital or Analogue, it matters not.

If there is continuity, they are NOT dead, just lazy.

I totally agree with Grant. Unless some fool burned out all 12 injectors by firing 12v through them continuously, they are not dead. Buy some fuel injector cleaner, take a plastic tupperware or ice cream container, etc etc, punch some holes in the top and dip the business end of the injector in the cleaner and leave it for 48 hours. Pour some cleaner down the hoses from the top too, so the entire tract gets a soaking.

Went and grabbed a new multimeter, tested each one and got a BEEP with every one! ΩNumber started around 8 and began counting down.
So that means they're alive and in a deep sleep?
Working out now whether to soak them or send them out again for another (better!) cleaning place.
Can't explain the injector place's claim, i guess they just didn't want to deal with them.
EDIT: did a 9v battery test, 4 pulsed. Gonna try the soak as per above and see if I can loosen them enough to get more pulsing... will report back in couple days.

GOODO.
Another SIMPLE Jag problem, partially solved.
LAZY "specialist types", too many out there.
Soak them if you feel comfortable doing so, or a better place would be fine also, and tell them they are alive, just sleeping, soundly. I find if YOU know a little in their eyes, they are less likely to try and blind side you.

i will add something ?
how do you know all the injectors are flowing fuel within say 3% of each other!
why because at idle you need very little fuel, as speed and LOAD increase is when you need them close together!
if just one is not up to balance that cylinder could run lean and detonate , blow gasket, over heat that cylinder!
of course most cars NEVER run WOT for any distance, i say hope my luck is with me???
course i try for perfection,(and that really doesnt exsist).

Resistance starts at 8 and counts down to around 2-3 for all injectors. I am not competent with electronic stuff so I've no idea how that measures.
Thrilled to say that after 2 days of soaking in diesel, all 12 are pulsing and squirting!
some took a little more motivating to wake up (small hammer worked great!).
From here I'll send them out for an ultrasonic clean which will include seals & filterbaskets.

Will finish this one up before the year's end.
10 of my 12 injectors came good in the end, 2 were found to be leaking.
Not a bad ratio in the end and far better than the initial assessment of 12 dead by first injector man- Luckily that guy is not a Dr.
It took some time as these green injectors are getting hard to find and I started to look OS, but 2 came my way locally, cleaned then up and have them all gleaming like new.
Will start reassembling in the next few weeks as I sort out the ignition system.
10 of my 12 injectors came good in the end, 2 were found to be leaking.
