Installing Speakers In Rear Cubby Box Lid
#21
Hi Paul
Oh No! I'm really sorry to hear about you back problem and Sincerely hope you will be better soon.
If I could find a Sound Bar, I would probably sit it on top of the 'Cubby' and clip it onto the handle, then hide it in the 'Cubby' or Boot/Trunk when its not in use.
To day, I happened to come across an awesome piece of kit in a Secondhand Shop, which was a professional hand built type of Loudspeaker Bar.
Which is Hi Fi Quality with massive Brass Type Connectors on the back, the only problem being that it requires a separate Amp, so as good as it was, it would work out very expensive.
I have already got rear speakers and upgraded them for better ones, when I got the Car but the problem is that they are far too small, so I need to find some big speaker pods for the underside of the 'Cubby'
Keeping that propped open, should not be too difficult to do.
Thanks for your help and I will check out that plug.
All the Best
OB

If I could find one in the UK, they would probably give me a refund, if it wasn't suitable.

OB,
Tks for your thoughts.
I'm pretty sure that many Sound bars are 12v powered and use transformers for home use. Have a look at the Sharp range. Not really expensive and have sub-woofer as part of the setup. Buy a cheap one, try it and put it in the house if it doesn't work for you!
Good luck
Paul

I never thought of that and you are probably right!
Everything seems to come with a Transformer these days, so it shouldn't be much of a job to cut that out and then mainline the whole thing to the Battery.
