Default Intake Manifold Badge

Heh guys

Spot the difference..

(My engine on the left) Just wondering what the go is with the really cool badges on the intake manifold (Jaguar V12). Where these from the factory or added later? I seem to recall other earlier Jaguar engines having these on their engines?

Grant Francis I hope you don't mind me borrowing your picture on the right.

I think it is essential bling

Any info is greatly appreciated

Factory fitted to later cars, I think from the facelifts onwards. Red ones on the XJRS versions I think.

The one on the right is Grant's and his was 85. He must of got them fitted. I wonder if it is a stick on thing or actually part of the intake manifold?

Grant?

Standard on the 6ltr engines.

The Jaguar had "Jaguar V12"

The Daimler had "Daimler Double Six", but since the US of A, never got the pleasure of a Daimler, they would miss out on that one.

When I was at Jaguar I looked at the Parts inventory, and noted they had 2 only in stock, NOT ANY MORE. They were listed as NLA (No Longer Available) on the factory inventory.

The 6ltr had a machined face in the manifold to allow them to "sit inside" the finning.

I looked at getting my manifolds milled to look the same, too many $ involved, so I simply stuck them down using Hi-Temp RTV.

They are supplied with a sticky back, but mine had lost the "stick", old stock that they were, hence the RTV.

I did see some appear a very long time ago on Ebay, but I dont use that site much anymore, so no real idea now.

And I troubleshoot computers and electronic devices for a living! I think it is time to sign up

Grant I did a google search on RVT. Cheers again.

Also I noticed in the same pic I posted before there is a Jaguar emblem etched into the engine block. Couldn't find it on mine and thought maybe it was under the inlet manifold. I guess by now thought the yellow paint in the etching would be long gone. Anybody know anymore about this?

Also enjoy a pick of a V12 engine in a Mark 2 (done by Mike Roddy and son). Also sporting said emblems. Very cool

Paul,

That "engine block" is in fact the camcover.

That etching is a "sticker", and mine were all flaky, and went west when I repainted the covers, and I never did find any replacements.

From memory, that MK2 V12 is a 6ltr, so the inlet plagues are standard. Mamoth task, that implant.
