I knew a set of BMW wheels would look great on an XJS. I just knew it. Man you've put a lot of work in, on the old cat, waiting to see the final product. Wow!

Excellent Project! Great work! Looking forward to seeing the final article!

Paul

PS Being pedantic, an original XJ-S Coupe is an XJ27, not an X27. Moderators also seem to have got it wrong in the Forum name!

Love it. The rear tires look very tight. What size are they and will you need to work the wheel arches? Cheers.

Ok. I hate to be the jerk. Well, don't hate hate it, but,,,, anyways.

This is easy for me to question, say, ask,,, while I understand the want for a manual transmission,,, is the V8 (4.2L) more desirable than the v12 (5.3L), and why, if you don't mind me asking?

I have a lot to learn and only get the info sometimes, by asking the question.

here in the uk
the v12 is about 300bhp
to rebuild a v12 could cost about £20,000
A v8 4.2 jaguar super charged engine
which jaguar did put a v8 engine in the xjs as a test bed for the xk8
the 4.2 engine here in the uk
cost me £3.500 and is 400 bhp and no rebuild
so anyway
my car I do what I think best for me

...and it's a lovely engine! I have one in a supercharged Range Rover with an upgraded pully, ecu upgrade etc. I never tire of listening to the supercharger whine under acceleration!

And with a manual box, it must be great!

I swear, I wasn't criticizing, just asking. I have a v12 and an 4.2 SC XKR and I likes em BOTH. I was just wondering.

I guess I could have took a closer look at overall vehicle weight before posting,,, I was thinking that the XJS was a heavier car. But, I do know the XKR convertible is heavy as well. Surprisingly so. So I looked,,, and they are damn comparable... About the same. So yeah. Makes sense.

And yes, I do love the yell of the supercharger on the XKR.

Looking good. Were you able to get all the wiring from the donor car as well?
