Default LED footwell light additions. SO easy

I've been updating my interior and decided to add some ambient night lighting. Was going to use green LED (to match the gages) but with my tan interior, it looked, well, rather sickly.
I decided to use amber, and after buying the strips that can be cut to three bulbs, I attached them to the underside of the dash in the footwells. I ran the wires into the center ski slope area and simply wired them to the lighter bulb. I simply pushed the wires in with the existing harnes and they were secure. No cutting or splicing necessary.
Even cutting the bulbs to three seemed too bright at night so I covered the last two bulbs with black electrical tape and PERFECT!
Now the footwells have a soft amber glow and the car looks AMAZING at night. I also added a small light under the center console lid edge. and it lights up the ski slope as well. It was a bit more difficult as I used a dremmel to cut a space to install it, then filled with 1 minute epoxy to keep it smooth to the touch and the leather from pulling back.

I have done the footwell myself a while back, but with white LED's. Looks very nice, but mostly, well lit. Amber sounds more "cozy", or "warmer", so I may try that shade to see what difference it makes.

Cheers!

The white Led strips are great for boot interior lighting as well.

Great idea. I would think that may be safer with my tank issues as well. If I keep it below half a tank, no smell but over, I get a bit of fumes. I;ve had the lights out since I noticed the smell.
Working on pics too. having trouble getting them to download. ARRRRG!!
