Light monitor on all time when light switch on
Hi all
Can someone take a pic of their back end to tell me what rear lights are supposed to be on when just parking (1st position) lights are on. My amber "bulb- out" indicator is on all time as soon as 1st position light is selected and even when 2nd position too. I have made sure all the lights are working and the replaced bulbs in the side lights on rear bumper also so that i believe all the lights should be working. I had a parking light out (2825 peanut lamp) out in the headlight assembly and that was replaced. So I believe all the external lights are working yet the indicator is still on. Are there other rear lights that are supposed to be on besides the two outermost driving/parking lamps? Are the rear fogs supposed to be just one lamp or two. Does the bulb monitor check that light circuit too? It's usually not on when I select normal lights on so i don't think it would check it when it's not on.
Thanks for the help. I don't like to have an indicator light on if it's not supposed to be on. I'm funny that way.

If a pre facelift car: check that ALL the lights are working at switch position 1. That is the front white lights, the side markers, and the rear lights.
Also check that the handbrake is fully off and the footbrake not pressed. The bulb out warning light will go out after about 40 seconds if all well.
If it does not, and having cleaned up all the earths and bulb sockets first, you may have a semi-duff bulb, or the light failure unit may be duff.

It's a Facelift car. License plates are good. Do the front turn signal light assemblies have a parking bulb as well as the turn signal bulb in them? (Front of lower bumper). They don't light up with parking lights on but do work with turn signal. Otherwise , all lights are on.

Correct. Small "peanut" bulb in each headlight assembly. (Sylvania 2825)
So, I cannot for the life of me figure out what bulbs are not working. All of them are all on as far as I can see. Perhaps the bulb monitor is not working working causing the indicator light to turn on?
