I just finished up a project to stop some of the oil leaks on my 89 v12. It now starts fine but has a rather loud tapping coming from the center of the 'v'. It was fine when I took it apart so it's clearly something I did. It almost sounds like a fuel knock. Anybody have any suggestions of where to start looking? I already pulled the distrubutor and rotor back off and looked for any obvious signs of arcing or rubbing and same with the plug wires. Whats the easiest way to test the injectors to see if they are operating as they should?

 

Ha, figured it out myself. The injectors will infact make a TON of noise when they are dirty. A little cleaner and octane boost in the ole' fuel tank and all the noise went away.
