Louder Turn Signal

Louder Turn Signal
Love my '95 4.0 (007RGTP) and can't believe I'm toolin' in such a cool ride -- to San Francisco & Lake Tahoe as well as around our Orange Coast SoCal turf. Biggest issue to me is leaving on the turn signal when I change lanes. With top down (most of the time) I can't see the green indicator lights and can't hear the clicks. Folks probably think it's because I'm old, but my eyes and ears are good. I read a bit about switching to LED bulbs, but will need to ask a mechanic to do that. Question: is there a way, hopefully rather simple, to increase the sound of the clicking? Is it from a solenoid? I've heard of louder ones that can be fitted onto some cars. Thanks for any knowledge & wisdom.

Interesting idea. My ears are far from good. And, I confess to failing to cancel the turn signal on occasion (s)!!
In the midst of another travail, I swapped in an ignition switch to replace the worn out one in my car that solved many a quirk. It had a side connector that was not connected. I guessed correctly, that it was the ignition on "buzzer". Audible with an aid in an ear or both. A PO must've disconnected it. Better ears than I ???
Check the wire schematic. S57 for my 83 XJ wuzza six.
Perhaps, it will identify the device that clicks!!! If mine is there, it is inaudible to me. Aids, or no aids on.
So:
1. Splice in an ignition on "buzzer".
2. Splice in a common house door bell. They are plenty loud!!!!
3. Other audible devices are probably available.

Louder flasher units do exist;
Novita/Turn Signal Flasher LF12 at AutoZone.com
I dont know if this one will fit the '94 XJS. Will have to do some more research.

Older cars used to mount flasher relays onto sheet metal plate brackets to make them louder (as older cars were louder in general).
Perhaps try locating an older style points type, non electronic flasher can (as they are quite noisy), or glue a piece of thin sheetmetal to your flasher can to amplify the noise?
