Master Cylinder/Booster interchange

Master Cylinder/Booster interchange
Good morning all,
Slowly working on my 88 V12 and renewing the entire brake system since the car has been sitting for over 6 years. I'm having a tough time locating a reman brake master cylinder and was wondering if anyone has retrofitted a non jaguar part here. I also have a fire damaged 89 that had Teves ABS and I'm working on getting rid of it totally and fitting a universal booster/master. I've been looking and seems like our bolt pattern is roughly 3.25 on the master, I see the speedshops sell a universal 2 port with a 1" bore and bolt pattern but might be a tad too tall since we have 3" from C/L of master to the bottom of the frame brace and this one is 3.5" . I am going to start looking at other remote fill cylinders to see if i can find one that will bolt to the 88 XJS booster
Thanks
Kevin

I've never done what you are suggesting so I have no specific answers.
However.....
As a rule, 'universal' replacements require lots of time (and often, frustration) spent tailoring them to work properly in any given application.
If expedience is one of your considerations I'd recommend having the booster rebuilt. There are many companies offering this service. I've had good luck with.....
Booster Dewey Power Brake Booster Exchange Inc.
.....but I'm sure there are many other good ones.
You won't have to spend any time tailoring a universal booster to work nor waste any time finding a compatible master cylinder
Cheers
