Mini panel under the gauges

I don't think that I've seen this panel before. It's a picture from an '89 car and I don't know if it came standard on all of the prefacelift cars, or not. What I'm sure of is that it doesn't belong in the facelift cars.
I see "front alarm" and "rear alarm" signs, plus some "audio sensitivity" control? So, what does this thing do?

I had something similar on mine in the same position, but it was a radar detector not an alarm. Definitely not the same as this, but I know for a fact that the radar detector in this position was a dealer installed aftermarket addition that my parents put in when they purchased the car in 89.

I think that SonarRadar was aquired by K40 at some point but I cant seem to find much info about the SS1000. I will keep looking.

I have something very similar. The JG2000 Radar detector. It was a Dealer installed accessory. I've got all the promotional information for it as well. I can scan and upload it if you all would like to see it. This seems more refined as it indicated which direction the radar signal is coming from.
