Not sure how I am going to reinstall the trim though. For some reason I was unable to remove side windows and therefore gave up.

To get the windows out I used 3 large screwdrivers from inside and gently prised the rubber and window out in one starting at the top.

That's interesting might look at these. The aluminium rivets and brass trim are a match made in HELL.

While you are in there, it is worthwhile taking out the non - return flaps under the black trim. I glued shut the bottom two, and removed the top one. You will be surprised at the silence that ensures once theses little flaps stop clicking about!

There is also 2 of these into the boot

Mine had to be drilled out mainly, but they were going home alright. Have you got an RS reference no. for the plastic rivets by any chance? Their website is so bad I can never find anything, and have to spend hours in the catalogue.

Deltron DBC is arguably the best paint money can buy.
BTW, I have gallon of same Deltron in Candy Apple Red Pearl that my wife turned down (too Communist for her taste apparently). Will put it on eBay in few days.

Deltron DBC 71528 would be close, but mine was custom mixed for classic hot rod candy apple red, with pearl metallic.
Can take picture of open cover, to see if my camera does it justice.
