Default Mystery XJS Model, Impossible identification

Hello, my name is Eddie and I'm relatively new to Jaguars. My source of intrigue has been this car and this car alone. A 7.0 Liter V12. XJS of no known model. The interior of the car was almost identical to that of a 1987 XJS, however there was an obvious (presumably six speed) shifter, YET there were only 2 pedals on the car, and attached to the shifter was what looked to like a hand clutch. If necessary I can retrieve a picture of this. The car is clearly V12 and is stated on the side to be 7.0L, however i cannot find a single picture of this car anywhere on the internet. Any thoughts or idenfitication from absolutely anybody?

The trunk of the mystery jaguar, note the custom spoiler and visible custom exhaust

This is the body of the XJS

This is the engine of the XJS

It’s someone’s project.

Engine is not stock. No 7.0 V12 produced.

The wheels are OEM but they are from - 94-96 model. This car is probably an 89 based on the break system.

I agree that's it's just someone's project car.

If you're thinking that it might be some sort factory built special edition, well, it isn't

Cheers

Of course, ill acquire more pictures of the interior sometime this weekend. Evidence points towards the car being used as a race vehicle, such as the club stickers on the right side of the car.

Does anybody have opinions on a hand clutch on the shifter?

No disrespect ment to the owner as this things are always personal choice.

l believe its a total fantasy car. l dont think its a racer of any kind as when you blow up the photo there is no cage.

The engine bay again when you blow up the picture you will see that despite the airplane spec ''bling'' hose everywhere, injector hose heat shields and pretty red wiring its still sporting the original and highly suspect soft fuel hoses going to and from the fuel rail.......................................

As for the 7L im not sure how you could tell without pulling the heads or getting very creative with a liquid. Thats assuming there is actually enough meat to punch the block out to 7L in the first place.

Check the angle of the spark plugs. It is unlikely someone built the 5.3 into a 7 liter without replacing the HE heads with earlier flat heads.

You are right it’s unlikely to take the HE engine out to 7 liters without switching to the flatheads. But7 lifer’s is doable with a combination of boring and stroking. If you offset grind the crank down to 1.88 use Honda bearings. You don’t need the maximum bore to get there

My guess is someone bought a 7.0 badge off ebay and stuck it on, and that's the extent of the engine modifications.
