After around 3 years of welding and mechanical work, I got the car to a paint shop. That was around six months ago. Whilst busy with work, I didn’t mind that my car was taking some time and just let them do things to suit themselves. Then I began to lose a bit of interest not being connected to the car for a long time and after thinking it through decided to call it a day. Off I went to the paint shop to pay what I owed with the mind to sell everything up as was. The paint guy is a nice man and couldn’t apologise enough though I didn’t mind the delay. It was when I was stood talking too him I kept looking at the car and thinking how good she looked even in primer and bits of filler. It was then I realised I couldn’t do it and in a moment decided I would press on and try and Finnish what I’d started. He has promised me she is next up and would be done in a couple of weeks or so. Looking forward to trying complete her now.!!!
Yep - 3 step progress on mine - looked good with really thin paint and rust, looked better with no rust and body filler, looks excellent painted in the colour I love.
One day she will together and on the road
In my opinion - You have to finish the project and then spend time to enjoy.
Work commitments have slowed my progress down, but I use her as a relaxation mechanism, which may make me a bit weird

These cars are a journey! I have been chasing a vibration for two years, and I still have not eliminated it completely. The latest theory is the diff, and I am undertaking the joyous task of cleaning and refurbing my spare axle, then fitting it, then hoping it makes a difference. If you give up you will never forgive yourself...
Excellent choice. I never understand when I see cars for sale that say "freshly rebuilt." But my thought- as you say- is not to profit only, but to drive it.
Thats is the thing Greg. Very true. When she comes back in her new paint I am sure I will be re - invigorated.
Also, Brinny, all the hard dirty work is done. You will be amazed how quickly the car goes together once you start putting stuff back into the shell. Mine went from an empty shell to rolling under its own power in less than a month.
