Need info; on service manuals
On a local website someone is selling 4 XJS service manuals for $100.00. They are labeled on the spine #1 (1-2), #2 (17-30), #3 (33-70) #4 (74-83 or88?) They are dark green in color with the Jaguar logo at the top of the cover,XJS in the middle and Service Manual at the bottom. I have a 93 XJS with the 4.0, would these be worth getting or are these for a much older model?

Probably not for $100. We had those at the shop (still have them somewhere!), but from what I can recall poorly written with tons of wrong info! The pre 95 XJ-S with the 4.0 litre had lots of year to year changes. However it's a pretty decent car. Much of the engine and trans is shared with the 90-94 sedan models. The final drive is similar to all XJS up to end of 94MY (inboard brakes), and the front suspension/brakes are similar to all years. ABS system is 88 to 94. Probably best if you make sure you have a wiring diagram for the 93 though. They can be found on a disc from jag.
