New Accumulator ball
#41
Hi Woodie
Its one of those things, somebody has to Change the Ball and I would rather do it than leave it to a Garage, who might not have the presence of mind to quickly grab a hose pipe and wash the Brake Fluid off before it starts attacking the Paintwork
So next time that I do this, then I will be ultra careful and also fully aware of what can happen

Hi Orangeblossom,
What you did with the hose pipe and water reminds me of the advice from years ago that if when filling the brake resevoir you happen to spill brake fluid anywhere on the paintwork (whether it be the inner wing) is not to wipe away with a cloth but to just pour plenty of water on it to nutralise it and flush it way.
The most worry question regarding your experience is what caused it? I know you would have pumped the pedal any number of times to de pressurise the sytem, what else could you have done looking back in hindsight?
