I have a 1991 Jaguar Soverign with 172K miles. Great car, well maintained. I lost my anti-lock system and now have HARD pedal and no assist. Can't drive safely. I hear a scrubbing noise in the Left rear wheel. Can you please explain possible
problem and
repair ? Fluid is at max level. I also have a 'lightening bolt' symbol on my dash...what does that mean??? Thanks so much and be blessed for all your help.
I am a 36 year old nursing college student and have to fix what I can by myself. $$$$$$ is really tight...Thanks again, and Yes I am a woman...But I am beautiful, smart, witty, semi-knowledgable of mechanical repairs and can tackle anything...please point me in the right direction...cheerio... AJ

Check all associated electrical connections and ABS fuses. Check pad wear, you should only have to remove wheel to do this. Note how grooved your rotor is. If the rotor is bad, you may need a brake job on the rear anyway, always do both sides. Brakes are very important! It's your last line of defence from hitting defence
