Default New lower tank fuel level sender ('88 H&E car)

This is the one I made from the $21 ebay 0-90 ohm sender.

I flipped the rheostat upside down so full is 0 Ohms, and electrically isolated it so the body was no longer the ground, and made a new tank top flange out of a large OD commercial washer. Everything is sealed with viton o-rings and/or marine JB Weld.

Total incremental cost was about $25, plus a few hours.

Well, it would probably take me 2 hours to make another one, i had three times that in this one figuring out how to do it.

Good Job. Are those wires designed to be submerged in fuel? If not get the proper wiring.

BTW, sealing the bolts...

I chamfered both side of the bolt thru holes on the fuel pump plate and level sender plate, and installed three proper size viton o-rings on each bolt, o-ring between bolt head and washer, an o-ring under washer, and after inserting the bolts thru the plates, another o-ring under that to seal the tank top bolt holes.

#010 o-ring on the 1/4" bolts, #011 o-ring on the 5/16" bolts.

I am hoping that will keep and fuel seep contained from migrating up the threads.
