Greetings. I am not a Jaguar owner yet, but am shopping for XJS. I have a few questions about the models and reliability. Granted nobody can garantee that the car does not brake, but I am a complete novice and know very little about the models I am interested in. I am sure that there are some models or years that are more reliable than others and some that are always spending time in the garage. Pre 1991 models or post? six cylinder or twelve cylinder engines? I am looking for a reliable car, not just a weekend driver. Any suggestions? thx. Adi

Look for a 1998 xj 8 jag they are a very good jags make sure if it got 75000 miles on it that you have the overhead valve adjusting chain roller check because they need to be change or they will break & than you have a valve that could be bent, other than that you they are a great car they were rather better than audi
bmw etc and you will find that people will give you the high 5 for they looks
