New Seat Treatment

New Seat Treatment
I've got new front leather seat skins in my XJS. They look great. What I would like to know is what I should do to keep them looking great. I would think that while they are new, that there is a "conditioner" that I could apply to protect them and keep them soft and looking new. What should I NOT put on them? There are many kinds of "conditioners" out there. Many are cleaners which I do not need for new seats. I am thinking of Mothers, Zymol, or Groits. There are some others but they are real expensive and I don't know if that is necessary. What do you recommend?

Al,
Leather Protection Cream & Leather Cleaner from Furniture Clinic - 20% off at the moment. Good products & company:

Not sure which country "Granby" is in? They have US & UK distribution.

Just as an FYI, Wayne Estrada offers some pretty good care and cleaning advice on the Jagbits website. You can read it at Jaguar Interior Detailing Cleaning Procedure by Wayne Estrada.
Also, we really like the Griot's Garage 3-in-1 Leather Care: https://www.griotsgarage.com/product...1+16+ounces.do We use it on all of our cars and truck. You can buy their products in many of the chain stores also.
Good luck!

There are dozens of leather conditioner threads in the archives; everybody has a favorite.
I've used Lexol, Leatherique, Gliptone....all worked fine in my estimation. Leatherique is popular and especially good for dried-out leather....but expensive. And your leather is brand new.
A pal of mine teases me about using "boutique" leather treatments while he has consistently used ordinary off-the-shelf Mequiers @ $7.95 per bottle from the local auto parts store. I'll have to admit that his leather seats are just as soft, buttery, and crack free as they were 17 years ago when he bought the car new.
Cheers
