Might not be the biggest wheels, but most of the 16x7 wheels from the XJ sedans through the 90's should fit without any modifications or spacers. You can get a 225/55 tire without a problem, and could probably fit a 225/60 or 235/60 as well. There are a lot of 16" wheels to choose from and they're pretty inexpensive.

16" wheels were standard on MY95-96 cars and certain 94's like mine pictured below. Shod with 225/55 Z rated tires, I think they look quite well proportioned on the car. They also improve handling significantly although with a slight loss in ride comfort.

really wanted to get asteroids onto mine. but due to mismatched nuts on the seller's couldn't get it done before i had to take it on a long road trip.
those asteroids only pop up for sale every once in a while, and some want north of 1500 for them. not sure they're worth that, but at least some of the xjr's have a full size spare.

BTW, when the Revolver wheels were installed on my XJS, it was necessary to add 1/4" spacers on both front wheels, so the center emblem wouldn't pop out. The rear wheels did not need spacers.
The brand new wheels/tires set came out of an XK8 being sold at the local Jag dealer (the owner had different wheels in mind) so the tires were the XK8 stock P zeros.
Cheers,
