No start condition - please help.

Thanks rand h - I will have to take a look at that connector then. This also makes me think I should re-evaluate, in general, whether I have adequate spark or not. I assumed the inline spark plug tester would flash only if there was adequate spark but I am starting to doubt that now. I am not very experienced with auto repair so not sure how to evaluate whether spark is adequate. It should be blue, not yellow, spark is that right ? And is suppose the bigger/brighter the better ?
Anyway, that at least gives me a number of things ( including the rotor/contacts ) to check for now because otherwise I am at a bit of loss...
If anybody else has info with respect to evaluating adequate spark and how to address - please share.

My experience is when the connector is corroded you get a wimpy intermittent spark (pull one of the HT lines from the distributor and mount its metal connector about 1/4 from a ground point) - the proper spark will jump 1/2 inch and be very bright blue. If you have a bright blue spark then your connector is clean and your CPS is working.
