no start xjs 4.0
Hi everyone , new to the site and really hope someone out there can help !
I am the proud owner of a 1993 4.0 xjs auto convertible which is in gorgeous condition and always garaged .
the battery had given up over the winter so I replaced it today with a new one ready for the new season, all was fine but on trying to start the car the factory immobilizer wont let me start the car on the key , all dash lights come up but I notice there is no audible bleep when I take out the immobilizer key as there usually is . the car was starting and running fine before this.
I have a problem with my right arm and do find it very fiddly to operate the immobilizer key on the drivers side of the steering column , can it be removed from the car system and just leave the alarm system ?
Really appreciate it if someone can suggest whats up as i was intending to go for a drive with my mates this weekend .
Regards David
