Default not accepting radio code

I have a '95 XJS convertible which has had the battery disconnected intermittently for several years. The Jaguar radio is no longer accepting the 4 digit radio code. Any ideas? Is there a way to bypass the code on this model?

I had this happen, if you enter the code incorrectly 3 times it needs to be left on for an hour (might be longer) or so before you can try again. Perhaps the buttons are stuck so its reading incorrect inputs?

You can also try all zero's. I read somewhere when trouble shooting mine that some people who lost their code would leave it in the freezer overnight. This would supposedly zeroize the ROM that stores the code.

Did you enter the code slowly? You need to enter the code, listen for the beep and then enter the next digit. It should be at least a seconds delay between each digit. If you just punch in the code quickly it won't work, even if you have the correct code.

I am having the same issue. I don't hear a beep. Haven't tried the all zeros though.

Yes, this is the secret. You need to leave the radio on, ignition on, for an hour. Easy to do on a long trip, at home, just leave the key on (at least in the accessory position) for an hour. That should give you the opportunity for three more tries at the code. Also correct: Slowly, wait for the beep.

Thanks for all those helpful replies.
Unfortunately it's not accepting inputting any numbers, so even if I hold one number down, it doesn't beep and the 'code' word just stays on constantly.

Yes, leave it on without pressing buttons for at least an hour...

Granted, mine is older, but when locked out there was still a beep confirming your input. If leaving it on doesn't work, I'd suggest cleaning the button contacts.

My 1989 Jaguar's radio is asking for the code and I have the code but it won't let me enter it. The radio has always worked perfectly until I had to install a new battery and now it won't let me enter the code to get it going again. When I try to push the buttons after seeing the CODE screen nothing happens until I have pushed them 3 times and then it starts beeping. Any suggestions.
