Default OEM wheels and tires upgraded to 18”

I have a ‘96 XJS Convertible Celebration Edition. I would like to upgrade my OEM 16” x 7” wheels with 225/60x16 tires (26.8” diameter) to 18” x 7” wheels with 225/50x18 tires (26.9” diameter), both front and rear. I understand that the OEM 16” wheels have a bolt pattern of 5 x 120.65mm and a positive factory offset of 28.5mm. I do not want to go with the 8” wheels with different front and rear offsets and the 235 tires. I would prefer sticking with the 7” width wheels and 225mm width tires. As long as I keep the bolt pattern at 5 x 120.65mm and the offset to the same positive positive 28.5mm I am hopeful that I can run the same 18” wheels front and rear. Does this seem reasonable or are there other factors that I am unaware of waiting to bite me in the rear??
I have read and re-read the forum sections on the XJS wheel and tire basics and I am still a little confused so any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
thank you
Mike

Hi 7TTA,

I'm thinking of doing a similar thing sometime soon and found these two sources have the best info:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-wheels-65576/

Installing 17 Rims and Tires

As you may well know, Jag wheels from the period are your best bet without having to change the PCD and worry about offsets (do check though ).
