Oil Pressure sensor?

Oil Pressure sensor?
My oil pressure light comes on periodically and I was told by the seller that the pressure has been checked by a mechanic recently and they were told it was the sending unit and the pressure was normal. The car runs strong and they gave me the # of the mechanic so I could verify his comments. I purchased a OEM sensor but I can't find where it is located on the engine. Any help would be appreciatted.

Is this a V12 XJS? If so, the oil pressure sending unit for the oil pressure gauge is in the "Vee" of the engine, just aft of the throttle pedestal.
There is also an oil pressure switch for the dashboard warning light. As I recall it is mounted on the pipe near the oil pressure sending unit. The switch is smaller than the sending unit, which has a bell or dome shaped appearance.
If you have a six cylinder XJS I believe both units are on the side of the engine near the oil filter but I have to double check that to be sure
Cheers
