P0411 Code on 1996 XJS
I know what the code says, I don't know what to do.
Where can I find the air pump?
This is the second time the code has popped up. The first time occurred while I was letting it idle for a very long time. The idle got a little rough. Once the CEL popped up and then it went smooth as silk. The code did come up with a P0401 (misfire). I chalked that up to something random, cleared the codes and moved on.
Second time happened a few weeks later. The idle was getting a little rough again and then the code popped up and it went back to silky smoothness. No misfire this time.
When I say a little rough, I could feel some light vibrations in my seat. The needle doesn't fluctutate, it's only in the vibrations felt. Typically when this car runs it is barely noticeable.
Any help? Thanks.

On my 95 4.0, I had the same code and changed the air pump. It is located front driver side of the engine. they are no longer belt drive, but electric driven and stayed in the same location as if it were belt drive. I bought one on e-bay for less than $100.00 and installed it myself in about 1 hour.

eBay is up to $150+ for a new air pump.
I got a remanufactured one from Advance Auto for $80. Not big on reman parts, but I figured for a 50% savings, it was worth the gamble.
Took me just under an hour. Took me longer to figure out how to get to that bottom bolt than it did for anything else.
We'll see if it solves my problem.
My hoses were clean. No need to do anything with them. I was expecting some crust, but it looked great.
