Default Plasma coating

Hey guys,

has anyone had any experience with plasma coating? I am wonder ing if I should have the heat shields on the manifolds plasma coated. The exhaust manifolds are not worth doing (in my opinion) but the heat shields.

Is it worth it? How does the coating react with fluid leakages like oil and coolant? Does it stain? Would say a fatty finger leave an imprint which can't be removed?

Cheers

Damien

brinny you may be talking about some coating different than Ceramic coating , its baked on in an oven, originally developed for Jet Engine Afterburners.?

Diam i clean my exhaust mani's cold with WD40 spray, then wipe with cloth, nice shine after 25yrs.

to add some interest , i also had the cylinder heads Exhaust ports polished and Ceramic coated , and the actual head flat surface, after resurfacing, coated!
also coating does reduce underhood heat , by 25/30%!

now some question why, back then i had witnessed most V12 jag engine went down because of overheating and loss of coolant!
so just thinking , too much heat is transfering into the coolant jackets(long Exh. ports), and also transfering heat from combustion chamber into coolant!

so two birds with one modification, keep heat in Exh.moving fast less time to transfer=more power!
keep more heat kept in combustion ,more expansion to push the pistons down=torque/power!

yes ,i sometimes think out of the box 1994. today i'm still out there just free thinking, not restricted by conventionl education.
