yes , they do fit , and fit well
i have installed them on my 1989 Coupe ,
remove the wiper arm grille, and the filters simply push into the side box sections , these sections allow air into the plenum for the fans etc
they are directional , so follow the instructions
i found that a bit of jiggling is required , as they seem oversized , but once in are a snug fit ,
there is no requirement for more air flow or anything , and they do filter the air quite well providing they are a snug fit

probably depends on how much you use the car, on my daily car i change it every couple of years, and at 4000 miles a year it isnt that bad just grubby,
i am not sure about these but the dont fit in the same place as the others.

there is a lot knocking about in the wrong boxes, I bought 10 via ebay and only 6 were xjs the rest were (same boxes) series 3
