Power front seat removal - 94 Jaguar XJS V12 Conv
All, I'm trying to swap the seats and console over on my 94 XJS V12 convertible as they're slightly weathered due to a torn top. I cannot for the life of me get to the rear bolts. The front ones came out okay by moving the seat back, however the rear are impossible to get out with the seat moved as far forward as possible, I don't see an obstruction under the seat and both front seats extend forward to the same amount which still covers the rear portion of the seat frame.
Any clue as to what's needed here?
Thanks

You're trying to take out the bolts that hold the seat runners to the floor, Yes?
If so, the rear bolts are definitely exposed when the seat is moved forward to its maximum forward position. If that isn't happening, then there's either a problem with the motor or the switches within it that recognise movement limits or you've got something in the runners preventing the movement.
Do you know if the seats are definitely going forward to their maximum extension? Attached is a pic of the inside runner of the right hand seat, when in maximum forward position. I should be with my car tomorrow and if no other member can respond before then, I'll try and take a photo of the front part of the seat in the maximum forward position for you to compare.
Cheers

In searching threads, I see that other people have posted the same issue on this forum, but none followed through with a resolution.

By the way, nice other cars. I also have a 71 TR6, 72 280CE (d-jet with a 4 speed) and a Series 3 V12 :-)

I'm not sure how true this is, but one forum member posted that the issue described by Jagboi64 is caused by deterioration of the sensors in the seat module. Apparently a problem also with x300 cars. My seats do full travel on one press of the switch. Or maybe mine are faulty?!!
You might want to first check that there's no obstruction in one of the runners preventing movement. If not perhaps, look through the wiring diagram. Then disconnect the seat plug and directly apply 12v to the appropriate plug terminals to see if you can force it to to perform full travel?
