Default Power seat problem

Hello all,

My car is XJS 5.3 facelift, which has memory power seat. Yesterday I found that both front seats stop moving in any direction. I can't adjust the wing mirrors either... I look into the workshop manual but I can't figure out what is wrong with them.
Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you lost a fuse. Did you check into that?

Yes, I checked all the fuse and they were fine. If it was the problem of RH seat only, I would suspect the seat ECU but I don't know why both were gone bad...

Had the same problem on mine a couple of weeks ago. After dismantling everything, including the seat control boxes, and checking the fuses etc, I found that the fuse for the heated seats was blown. Despite the other fuses being intact it stopped everything from working!
Changed the fuse and everything worked. Much to my frustration, I can't seem to find any decent e/l diagrams for mine! That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it........

Edit -it was the memory fuse! I must get one for my memory.....

Thanks Roy, I found that already but it didn't help to find why my seats didn't work!
It's quite usefu though, the problem I have is mine's an early facelift(1992) with the chrome and rubber bumpers, and it gets a bit confusing when trying to find info and parts.

Japthug, did you ever find out what the problem with your electric seats and wing mirrors was? I've got exactly the same problem on my 1992 XJS 4.0 and can't find the solution!
Thanks very much for any help
Oli
