power steering fluid recommendations? what do they recommend?

You didn't mention year or engine but all the XJSs I'm familiar with use ATF as power steering fluid. Dexron II was probably the original spec but any Dexron will be fine. Personally, I use any Dexron, Dexron/mercon, Type F, or 'universal'. Whatever is easiest to reach at the moment

For the V12 it will be ordinary transmission fluid. Maybe also for the 6, but I’m not sure
