Price observation
Just wanted to note the avg. asking price for a decent XJS in my area (pacific northwest) has crept steadily upward to around 8000-15000cad in the past year, has anyone else seen this? I watch craigslist listings often and a working car without the re&re work is easily 9 and rising with fixer uppers are going for 2k (mind you that's with several thousand in extra work). Not that I bought my car(s) for the investment value but it is nice to see them being appreciated and costing more, I almost want a second, 89' convertible in red, to go with the two seasons we have here.

I'll be more impressed when someone notices SELLING prices are going up.

Bring a Trailer shows the prices its cars have gone for. More selling at the top end, though still concentrated at $10,000. Also, more selling in general.

Yup - going up which is good. As mentioned earlier you can still get a beater for around $2k+ US or so and the nicer ones going for $25k+ with concentration in the $10k-$15k US range per bring a trailer data. I've had couple of millennials (as opposed to old guys like me) comment they really would like to get one at some point so it's good to see those in the "spend most of my income" age range (coveted by advertisers) showing interest.

Here's one. Needs some work, but the price is right?

thanks but this is gonna be too expensive. I just got one in much better condition than this one and I am already into it for lot more than I thought. Based on my car, I figure this one will need about 8k to get it road ready--- recondition radiators, complete brakes, tune up, change all fluids, relay switches, alternator, battery, tires, light bulbs, switch bezels, and interior work. I prefer to pay up to 15k for almost a turnkey with less miles.
I am patient. I will keep looking. Thanks for your help.
