Re-upholstering 95 seats
Just got my new seat covers from autoberry, and must say they look great.
Anyone had any experience with replacing the covers themselves, or know where there might be a write up.
I contacted Autoberry, and all they will say is that they should be fitted by a 'professional'
All the panels are separate, so it doesn't look to be too bad a job, but maybe someone knows better ?

Here's my opinion. Others will surely follow.
I am a non-professional but have recovered seats on several cars, including an XJS. Results have varied from "great" to "well, it could be worse" :-). SO much depends on how accurately the covers were made ....and some seats are just easier than others.
The real trick is in adding/removing padding and knowing exactly where to pull, nip, and tuck to get the leather properly tensioned so there are no sags or wrinkles. This is where experience comes in. It can be frustrating.
My advice is to take it to a pro or be prepared for somthing less than perfection.
Cheers

I agree with Doug
I did both of my front seats on my '92
It took me approx 16 hours per seat, thats with the seat already out of the car.
I am very pleased with it, but my seats were wrecked before so anything would have been an improvement.
I'm never going to win a concourse competition, but the car looks quite presentable.
I think if you take it to a pro, it'll cost more than the covers to fit them
