Rear brake pad question on XJS 3.6 convertable
Hi Guys
I am looking to replace all the brake pads front and rear on a 1995 XJS convertible, (early T-bar style) 3.6.
I cant seem to find the right part numbers for them especially the rears as the disc is in the center of the car (transfer box im guessing) rather than the usual part of the rear wheel hub setup.
Can anyone offer any advice?

Firstly welcome to the Forums.
Please do an Intro in the New Members Area.
If your car has "INBOARD" rear brakes, it cannot be a 1995, so I will take it as a 1985, which is more in line with the 3.6ltr I6 engine.
Front pads = DB585
Rear Pads = DB521
Park Brake Pads = DB714.
These numbers are BENDIX Brand numbers, and a re generally used throughout the Auto Parts Industry. Some markets have their own system, BUT, these numbers will and should transfer to your market, NOT to Genuine however.
These pad numbers have been use on Jaguar XJ Series and XJS cars, 1976 to 1992.
Same brakes all the way through on the XJS, some changes for the Series cars later in production, which does not concern your car.

As Greg has said, that sounds like an 1985 3.6 Cabriolet, not a Convertible.
The front brake pads are common throughout the life of XJSs. The rear one are naturally very different for the pre 93 cars which have inboard discs. Brake pads are very easily available from a number of different manufacturers.
Good luck

Coz I was bored.
Quick Google, page 3 =
https://autovaruosad.ee/en/varuosad/search/DB521/
They have front and rears, and convert those Bendix numbers simply.
They be in Estonia. Maybe good, maybe not.

Here another 3.6 in Spain!
First you must download a catalogue of XJS parts, which you can find without difficulty in stores such as SNG Barratt, or David Manners. This way you will be able to locate yourself which parts you need.
Front brake pads: JLM1510.
Rear brake pads: JLM9728.
Hand brake pads: JLM1514.
These are the OEM part numbers. With them you can search for the equivalents of any brand available. For the handbrake pads, if you also have to change them, you need to put down the entire rear axle, it is a lot of work. The normal pads is simple.
For all these brake pads you don't need to buy them in UK, they are easy to find in Spain, in on-line stores such as Oscaro or several others, at affordable prices.
