My switch wasn't pressing or depressing correctly so I pulled it out and a little piece of white plastic was jammed up inside it. Does anyone know what this is?
My best guess is that it's a little diffuser. Probably for the middle section of the switch.
The reason I care is also the reason I can't test my theory. The 2 bulbs that light up the hazard and defrost and map light switches are burned out. I ordered some LED replacements, but they will probably ship from China and take a couple of weeks. Thanks in advance.
It is. In theory, I am pretty sure, when the heater is switched on that little panel at the bottom of the switch face, under the heater symbol, turns red as that little piece flips out of the way. Mine fell out like yours!
