Rebuilding the Suspension of a 95 XJS 4.0

Hi guys,
New to the forum. I am rebuilding the Suspension of my XJS with 280k miles on it. the rear replaced, new shocks front and rear, a bunch of bushings and front springs. The front bearings were the last thing. It got tricky with the rear springs. I want to bring it back to the touring specs for comfort, but the rear springs are no longer being made. I did get a set of the uptakes sports springs, but am hesitant to put them on since the shocks and the front springs are all the touring version which I assume to be softer. My question is: does anybody have any sourcing or experience with after market springs that are close to the tolerance of the original touring springs? Would it matter at all to switch to the updated springs? Or is this a case where I should go to updated shocks and prongs all around? (Which would be sad) Many thanks in advance.

Tallyho,
There are so mnay factors in how the car feels on the road, incl. tyre size, springs, shocks, bushes etc
I suspect you're already running on 225/55 tyres which were the tyres fitted when the XJS had sports suspension, rather than the 225/60 tyres that were fitted to Touring suspension. And with the better availability of 225/55 tyres I suspect you'll stay with them, so you're already in a compromise situation as regards the ride and feel of the car. .
In my limited experience, getting the ride height correct is really difficult with anything other genuine Jaguar springs. And as you say the original JLM 10995 spring is NLA.
As you've apparently got a set of the sports rear springs (genuine Jaguar or aftermarket?), I would be minded to fit of platform height-adjustable GAZ shocks. Then you can the ride height correct and then set the shock setting to suit your preferred driving style. That's the route I took.
Good luck
Paul
