I'm seriously considering buying a 96 XJS.
Specs call for premium gas. However, I've read that regular (87octane)is OK IF thevehicle is equipped with knock sensing in the engine controls.
Articles say you suffer a performance decrease but if that is something you want to regain just begin using premium again.
I assume the 96 6 cylinder engine would have this feature.
Is this correct regarding controls??
Thanks,
Dan W.
