Removing Door Sills Preparing to weld in Floor Pans
Good morning all! Since my carpet is my main structural member , I am preparing to weld in a driver's floor pan, and, a passenger patch in my convertible. How do the door sills come out? In a junkyard, I pried both sides up, the door sill came right out. Is this the proper way? I noticed that it didn't really snap in afterward, it just laid on top of where it should go. I also noticed that the carpet underlayment is glued pretty tight. Just scrape it away? Can it be, should it be re-used? Any advice? Thanks.

It does just pry up but can have a good grip. If it is not clipping back in it may be possible you have displaced the "clips" in the underside. They need to be evenly spaced and they can slide along the channel and all end up at one end or even fall out if the plastic end cap is removed.
