That picture is with the pedestal out lol. So it's just a matter of getting the wrench on the sender and sensor and removing them then?
Also I read elsewhere that I should replace the washers for the oil banjos that are behind the heads (once I take the cam covers off) as they leak. I'll probably post.about that later on anyways.

Still alive. Got home last week and spent a week getting caught up on honey do list.
Starting to get back into the car. Still just wiping all the build up of oil. Hopefully start putting some things back together before I forget how it all was lol.
I've decided I'm gonna leave the a/c in place and once I get the car running I'll tackle it. It's kinda works and ya it's in the way but it doesn't effect anything so I'll work around it.

So I was reading one of the pdfs and it suggested to take the top plate of the V out to reseal it. I have removed everything from the V now except the a/c compressor which is attached to the V by 2 bolts and a bracket.
Should I remove it while I'm there?
Whats exposed if I do?
I'm unsure if it leaks oil just because it has over 30 years off grim built up in the V so can't tell in that area.

system.just using wd40 decreased first. It's the bio friendly one so not super strong. Just to get the main stuff then I'll give it a once over with better stuff once I'm ready to start reinstalling.
But just doing that the engine already looks better. it's exciting.

Well I've gotten most of the 30 years of crud build up out of the V.
So now it's time to start on removing the valve covers.
after I remove them I'll give them a good cleaning and repaint. Then all that's left to remove is the dizzy cap and spark plugs and then I can start putting this beast back together. Hopefully I didn't forget how lol.
Forgot to mention also changed the rear brakes on a 2016 Mercedes gle350D this morning for a nieghbour. Didn't know they didn't have stud on the wheels (lugs/studs are all one piece) makes it a pain putting wheel back on lol.
Oh well.made 100 bucks and a 30 pack of bud lol.

At one point I contemplated hold my 3 year old by his feet and dangle him over it so he could get his tiny hands....but the wife stopped me lol

I removed the 4 mounting bolts for the a/c today. To make it easier to get the front 2 plugs out. So little more cleaned now lol

Even though the blue cap would match the new blue plug wires.

Today's progress
All new plugs gapped to .025 and put in, oil sensors pedestal cleaned, new oil pressure switch and new oil warning light switch installed, new dizzy rotor installed.
Had to order new copper washers for the banjo bolt. Should be here tomorrow.
Work tomorrow but then should be off rest of week due to getting 2nd covid vaccine shot then being grounded.
