I noticed that pivot that the cable attaches to was snapped off and the end is in the cable. Looks like a mini trailer hitch ball, you'll need that piece too. I have no idea if you might be able to find something similar at a junkyard from a GM car/truck with the TH400 transmission.
Once I get the cable out I'll get it cleaned up and looked at. Hopefully today at some point

I'm thinking now maybe I just need to replace that pivot ball now. If I can get just that peice of do u think I can save the cable? Because theres no rust anywhere else on it. I've been looking online and you can by that pivot piece separately.
Thanks for the link. Luckily from what I've found the TH400 tranny stuff are basically the same. I've even found that stuff with multiple ball joint sizes in one kit. I meet a guy that owns a 59 triumph convertible. He told me some local places to check out for parts. And he said he goes to every British car rally in the province so if I need to find a hard part to let him know as they usually have flea markets at them.
Just one of those things Jaguar was in love with. I think you'll find that most or all of them are Posi-drive....and much easier to deal with if you have Posi-drive screwdrivers (or screwdriver bits)

Maybe I should grab one. I'll be replacing them all anyways with another style anyways.
What's with these crpapy Philip's heads everywhere
Ugh.
If you use a Phillips in a pozidrive screw you will have problems! A phillips is designed to slip out, the pozi is designed to grip. The difference is a pozi has hash marks at 45 degrees to the cross. Using the right screwdriver makes a huge difference.

Theres so much rust in most of them...the interior ones have been find...but trying to remove the front spoiler was a pain lol.
We had a federal election yesterday so didnt get any work done.
I am waiting for parts and should have fully have the tranny shift linkage back together by this weekend. Hopefully its quicker going back together than taking it apart.
Also got access to the bottom of the radiator and there is no drain **** on my rad. Hopefully if I get all the parts on time I can get the rad flushed as well this weekend and get the car outside to wash down the engine bay. That's gonna be messy lol
What is the plan to wash down the engine bay?
I see a thread on here recently that did not end well when water was introduced in to the engine bay.
Its a no no.

Dump diesel full and set it on fire lol
Just cover the electrical stuff, spray degreaser on the built up areas and lightly hose it off after scrubbing with brushes. Going.to be a 3 to 5 hr job. Not difficult to do. People go heavy with the water when u dont have too or dont wait till everything is completely dry before starting.

So got new battery installed. These two light are on after starting. I understand the fuel light for low fuel. Only got 10 litres in it. But is the other one the water level in rad?
The overflow reservoir (pic) is full but who knows about the rest
But I got bigger issues at the moment. Next post
lf it where me i would want to look into why you have no oil pressure on a cold engine turning 1500rpm.................................
