Not so quick on dismissing them. Pull this crap out of my two Ganos filters yesterday. This was after a flush, new water pump, recored radiator, and a new coolant tank. Black flakes apoear to be paint from God knows where. There was also sand, some as large as small pebbles.
Question: After you run it with the filter, do/would you recommend removing the filter (mission complete) or leaving it for the long term?

So I started refilling the coolant following grants procedure, as I have done before seen here with left side jacked up...
...after about 1 hr of slowly filling it up I'm around 20L and I here coolant dripping, it's coming out of the air bleed hole first.... ok.... I cap it... put just a little in and I can here it going into the expansion tank.... that's when I here coolant dripping again.
I guess my patch job of the crack at the bottom failed...
So I removed the expansion tank and have it sitting in the pan draining. Will access tomorrow.
But I did notice that there was a lot of fluid in the expansion tank more then I thought when i removed it so was wondering why it didn't come out of there first instead of the bleed hole?
More to follow tomorrow

First day of vacation ya!
So started the repair on the expansion tank. Will know tomorrow if I did a better job.
Changed out the fuel filter...high on fumes now lol j/k. Was easy.
Started cleaning up the garage and getting all the parts i have scattered about together.
Hopefully get it off the stands tomorrow and out if the garage.

Perhaps 'sod' doesn't make the transatlantic journey ...
We say Sod's Law or Murphy's Law - it is a way of saying that whatever you think, reality will have something else planned.
For me it is the point where I pack the tools away, clean up only to go get them out again when I spot what I missed despite all those check's, rechecks - I mean what could go wrong - well Sod and Murphy pretty much conclude 'everything' ... set the expectation low that way the level of disappointment is reduced.

Got the expansion tank mounted again. Will continue filling up with coolant tomorrow.
Fixed the truck lid latch.
Also took the ant out. It never went all the way down (bottom section). So looked inside. Extended it by hand using the inner gears, the bottom section came out more and noticed a slight bend in it. So bent it back slightly. Also took 2000grit to all the sections to polish them up, then rubbed lubrication oil along the whole section. Seems to be better but won't know till I hook power up to it. Meh was gonna gut the whole system anyways down the road.

ready to come off the ramps. Just need someone to help push as i dint want to start it in the garage in case i ****ed up big time.
Good news i hooked up the battery and didn't see any leaks or anything.
the radio antenna now goes up and down like intended so that's a win.
So while I'm waiting for help I do have a wiring concern.
So when I turn this switch on
The aux fan comes on. that 12" fan is loud and strong fyi. Go spal!
thoughts as I was trying to have it only come on when the compressor comes on. Or by activating that switch should the compressor be tripped?

So got it outside of garage.
Wouldn't start. Then I realized that it's a year old gas in it. So just put fresh 91 oct gas with fuel stabilizer, 105 octane boost.
Waiting for the battery to charge back up.
It almost started. I can feel the fuel Ines are charged. Nothing leaking so far.
I'll report back in an hr or so.
Time to tidy up my garage while I wait
