Rescue's Official Build Thread - 88 XJS V12 Oct 12 2019

Been a long time. Kids are busy with sports and now I own a travel trailer lol.
I did today after inspecting the front sub frame i decided to buy a good used one. I'm gonna build it up and then i can just swap the old one out. I'll remove pieces from the car and place onto the new to me sub frame.
I found one on ebay from Texas so it's gonna take a bit to get here.
That's my plan anyways. Hopefully be done by fall.
Hope everyone is well.

Not Bad!!
Now be sure you put in Genuine Metalastik bushings so you don't have to do it again in 3 or 4 years.
(I can tell you how I know)
From USA call this number and talk to Jack Weston: (011 44 121 5431629)
Here's what happens if you don't have Metalastik bushings.

What I did was to squirt this stuff into the interior, shake it around and leave it to dry
https://aquasteel.co.uk/
Then when dried for a few days I squirted this stuff into it on top:
https://bilthamber.com/product/dynax-s50/
A couple of 750cc cans will do it, a,d the probe that comes with it works really well.
Put whatever you like on the outside. I lucked into possibly the last brand new front cradle in Europe a few years ago. All 100% still.

So what's people's opinion of rebuilding the steering rack?
Should.i do it myself or try ro find someone who can rebuild them locally. Which is harder due to location.
I should add its not leaking or anythinh. But i figure since im taking it out i might as well do it

Well hi all. Haven't done anything since my.last post. Been very hot and also just got back from vacation.
I did start preping the snow to me sub frame yesterday by cleaning and repainting the rust spots.
So now I'm ready to start taking off the peices of the in car subframsubfrim starting the driver side first.
Ive un-bolted the caliper and have it hanging.
Now I'm debating on what to do next.
I'm thinking removing the spring next. I'd have to go buy 4 peices of threaded rod and stuff.
Question is if I remove the spring next will it cause issues with any other components or will I be ok?
Or should I remove other stuff first?
Here's where I'm at
