Rescue's Official Build Thread - 88 XJS V12 Oct 12 2019
#1501
then I back off each nut 1/4 a turn at a time then the nut on each rod and each bolt until the bolts are all off. By then the tension on each nut is lessened enough because the spring has relaxed enough so that you can just count on the rod to hold it.
First time I stuck some 2”? Bolts back in to catch it if anything let loose. Never happened so I stopped using them as back up.
Make sure the treads are clean you don’t want to pull the all thread out. I use 2 washers under each nut with a little anti seize Between the washers

All
Well I sold the XJS today due to a bunch of reasons.
As it drove off I'm sad but also Happy knowing it will go to someone who will finish what I started and it will live on.
Maybe the new owner will pop thier head in here as they read all through this wonderful thread.
I want to thank everyone who took the time to help me along the way to bring it back to life in the first place.
Cheers
Cory
