Yeah you could always check for power at the bulbs. My right hand side bulb gets knocked loose all the time lol.
I'm not sure about the ski slope. My wood is really messed up and I've always avoided removal to prevent further damage.
Maybe it is explained well enough in this section? If not look at pics of the ski slope and dissect what it holding it all in to help removal

Ok, it gets more interesting.
The bulbs are fine. I disconnected the 14 pin connector in the right wheelwell at the trunk wall. Applied power to the wire to the reverse lights. They light up. So the bulbs and the harness that runs through the trunk lid is fine.
But the harness it connects to disappears towards the front of the car in front of the passenger wheel well. Where it terminates from there is a bit of a mystery at present.
Also, showing my ignorance here: there are two additional lights next to the reverse lights. I think they should be running lights. They work when powered through the connector, but are also off otherwise . Any idea what lights these are?
I have pulled the cover off the convertible pump and window relay component, but don't see the wire harness passing through there.
The fuse for the reverse lights is on the left (drivers panel). Power is getting to fuse #16, which is labelled as the reverse lights.
At this point, normally I would suspect the reverse switch, but the lights flanking the reverse are also off. This would indicate a wire harness problem elsewhere.
And I thought I was through with British electrics when I got rid of my TVRs and Triumph...

On the facelift model those would be the rear fog lights. You should have 2 fog light switches on the dash like these for the front and rear fogs. The 2 very inner are dummy lights to fill the gap between EU and US number plates sizes (Tags).

Your location shows Uganda!!! If so, a bit impractical.
If in continental US, sure.
