Right side mirror came off today
Hello all, my wife and I were returning home after lunch today when she commented that the side mirror looked odd to her. I couldn't really tell, though it did seem pretty "jiggly", but that could just have been from the beat up roads in our area. Well, after we pulled up in front of the house, she reached out the window, grabbed the mirror, and pulled it out of the housing! (Not trying to blame her for breaking it, obviously it was pretty loose, better to take it off at home than fall off on the road.)
Also, it seems that the mirrors are heated, something I was completely unaware of - there's a heating element glued to the back of the glass, connected to wires in the housing. There isn't a mirror heat switch as far as I've seen, does anyone know how they are controlled?
The question I have is, what kind of adhesive should I use to put it back? and how to clean off the old stuff without taking off the heaters? The old glue is still sort of sticky, but not enough to hold the glass on, and I think it might interfere with the new glue if I don;t remove it.
Thanks, Eric

Good to know, thanks! That had crossed my mind, but after reading a recent thread about heated window washer nozzles controlled by an ambient temperature sensor, it seemed too straightforward for Jaguar electrical design...
Thanks, Eric
