Rochester valve and fuel smell
#22
Greg, I've blown the brether line through this morning that's clear. Managed to test the rv and that seems ok. Smell of fuel has greatly dissipated but still a faint wiff. Not sure if that's just legacy odour and will go fingers crossed. Just to be 100% sure, should the pipe that goes from the rv to the underside of the car, be connected to the outlet on the same side as the vac pipe. Previously when wriggling about under the car I noticed a wiff of fuel in that corner where the breather comes out and thinking about it , I haven't noticed it since I've had the problem in the boot. Hopefully it was that blockage.

The single spigot goes to the outlet. The side with two spigots is for the inlet from the tank/canister and the vac pipe (the smaller top pipe).

I have just done a double check on the rochester valve. I used a large syringe to apply vac. With this on I could suck and blow . I had to hold the syringe open as it was trying to suck it back in. It seemed it had quite a pull on the syringe to say it works at 2 psi. Do you think all this sounds like it's working OK? Thanks

Greg, I found a new Rochester valve on eBay at a good price. However it has the outlets marked up opposite to the ones we use. I’ve fitted as per the markings. I’ve read on jag lovers others have used these. Will it be ok do you think? Also while not easy to blow through it did seem easier than my old one.
