I had to change out the hoses to the heater as one had blown water everywhere. I have never sworn such bad words before while kneeling on top of the V12 grrrrrr. I bought a complete set of hoses and think i will leave them in the box.

I have posted earlier my belief that Coventry kept on hand specially trained Rhesus Monkeys specifically to work on coolant hoses.

However... twenty years of not preventing blown hoses by replacing hoses before they blow? Two years, five years, pick a number less than twenty. Take the time. Hoses. Belts. Plug wires. Distributor caps. Perform regular preventative maintenance (PM). It's a good idea.

Preventative maintenance... That's what I have been trying to accomplish. The hose was a surprise that came out of nowhere. I just bought this car a while ago and I had to park it for a while because I was pretty sick for over a year (not Covid). I still have a ways to go, the big one is the rear brakes. Right now, I'm about 1/8" from centering the hole for the long bolt on my alternator. Tomorrow I'm going to see if I can get a tapered punch in there and hopefully punch it once from behind. It's pretty stubborn. Once I get it going, I will probably take a short break from the Jaguar because I need to put a water pump on my truck. Lately, it been one thing after another. Also, I'll probably tackle the belts before I touch another coolant hose (lol). It's really a relief hearing you guys say that your experience was a little trying like mine. Funny thing is, I was just thinking about buying a set of hoses and belts and my second thought was also...I'll just keep them here until I'm ready for another 10 rounds. I know a whole lot more about this car now. Hands on can be a real pain, but I've learned my way around the engine compartment a little better for it. .

Dear all,

I replaced all the coolant hoses some years ago on my 92 xjs...but not this one as SNG didn't have it in stock at the time.
Thanks for the reminder that this thread provided... I ordered it today from my local jag dealer and I'll have it on Monday.

Default Thanks!

I took my car on the road today, she's running just south of "N" again. I have another intake elbow on the way, so hopefully there won't be any more vacuum leaks. I appreciate all your help!
