Seat Motors
Hi,
I got myself into little jam. I am installing new front seat covers and of course the seats are out of my car. For the record, it is looking real nice. I got the seat covers from seat.com. My problem is that I need to move the seats in order to finish installing the covers. I really don't want to put the seats back into the car to move then. Hence my question is how do I get the seats to move? Of course I have a 12v supply which I am hoping is required to move the seats. I will need to move the seats in both directions. A diagram or just telling which wires need what will be great.
Thanks,
Jomo

JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource has the wiring diagrams.
Usually the ground wire will be black. Tap the power line to one of the other pins and see what moves!
When I replaced my seat covers, I also needed to move the seats on the track and was able to figure it out. I don't think you can do any serious harm. If there's no ground, remember that movement in one way could be just a reversal of wires to move it the other.

Jomo,
Those seat rails have potentiometers that are really fussy about being moved.
I would put them back in the car (you don't have to tighten them down).
Make your adjustment to fit the seat covers, then remove the seat if required.
I've heard too many horror stories from owners that screwed the pooch.

Let me check the diagrams...
Put one battery terminal on Gray and the other on Gray/Brown to recline the seat. Reversing the terminals will move it the opposite direction.
Pink/Red and Pink/Black will move the seat front and back. Same thing, switch which contact gets the positive and negative and the seat will move in the opposite direction.
These wires avoid the potentiometer that equiprx pointed out.

The link that you supplied me was right on target. I easily got the rails moving in both direction.
