Looks so nice! Mulberry is an underrated interior colour IMO. Seems a shame to sell it as you've clearly put much effort into it. GLWS
As an aside - what did you use to line the underside of the bonnet? It looks really good.

yes, interior colour was one of my main reasons for buying her in the first place
its really hard to photograph to get the right shade, as its far more subtle and relaxed in real life over a picture on the internet, and 99% original , just genuine new old stock door cards for the restoration ,
i spoke to Mathewson about auctioning mine (at least the same spec as yours but without the plastic),and he doubted it would do more than £7000 before collection and commission charges,on a good day, even with parts bills for over £15000 in the last 10000 miles & 26 years, i may use him just to prove him wrong, perhaps,, and it maybe be on the TV., when things get back to normal, i will have to see..
don't forget,
Mathewson and such like are auction houses, buyers are looking for 'bargains' and to get a car as cheap as possible, and the final hammer price is always subject to commission and VAT , so £7k sold is not £7k to the buyer....
and if i was in the market of buying, i would go to auction ,
and how can he carry out a detailed valuation by phone, as he will lump it in with every ' ordinary ' Jag that will have issues, usually rot and wear, which i know mine doesn't have, and probably the same with yours ( is yours a Sportspack specified car as well ? )
as a seller, its private all the way as you get someone who is interested in the car right away in my opinion
i know its all subjective, but as sometimes seen , prices depends on who wants anything in particular, and i will happily hold out, as its been 19 years so far, lol
Would a Bentley be possible WHILE having your XJS? The reason I ask is that (and I have read this here more than personally knowing) that prices for the XJS are really about to turn around... With so much put in, you might be able to get way more out in the near future, if you know what I mean...?

what makes you think prices are about to rise? I hope your right!
XJS prices are indeed going up, I've been looking for a parts car for a while and the prices just keep climbing. I'm looking at one right now that's a solid donor car that he wants 2100$ for. For reference, five years ago, I bought my one owner by a lady doctor 90 xjs with 89k on it, KM not miles for 1700$ and it passed a safety and emission without any work at all and had no issues after sitting in storage for 8 years . good luck getting anything close to that nowadays.
